During the inauguration of the NilePet headquarters in Juba on March 2, 2024, the Nilepet Managing Director, Bernard Amuor Makeny, expressed gratitude to Minister of Presidential Affairs Bangasi Joseph Bakasoro, noting that Bakasoro has effectively eliminated gossip in the Office of the President.

Addressing the audience, Makeny stated, “Joseph Bangasi Bakasoro, now in the Office of the President, doesn’t believe in ‘Ache Luel, Ache Luel,’ which is not the norm of the day for a business. I think the Office of the President is free from ‘ache Luel Ache Luel.”

The Dinka phrase “Ache Luel” loosely translates to hearsay or gossip.

The ceremony was attended by prominent government officials, including President Salva Kiir, Vice President Taban Deng, Speaker Jemma Nunu Kumba, Chief Justice Chan Reec Madut, Presidential Advisor Tut Gatluak, and Finance Minister Bak Barnaba Chol.
