Government orders indefinite closure of schools due to heatwave

Due to severe heat waves, the government has ordered the indefinite closure of schools countrywide to protect students from high temperatures with a joint statement issued by the Ministries of Health and General Education and Instruction advising parents against letting children play outdoors.

The government has ordered the indefinite closure of schools countrywide due to severe heat waves.

The order comes just days after the Ministry of Environment and Forestry advised that learning institutions for children should be temporarily closed due to the absence of cooling facilities in most classrooms.
