Kiir appoints Johnny Ohisa new first deputy governor of Central Bank

Prior to his appointment last evening, Ohisa was the Director-General for Currency & Banking Operations at the Bank of South Sudan.

President Salva Kiir has appointed Johnny Ohisa Damian as the new first deputy governor of the Bank of South Sudan.

The position fell vacant after the death of first deputy governor Maror Cyer Rehan in June 2020.

Prior to his appointment last evening, Ohisa was the Director-General for Currency & Banking Operations at the Bank of South Sudan.

John Ohisa Damian formerly worked as Managing Director of International Commercial Bank (ICB) South Sudan before joining Central Bank in 2019.

He holds Masters of Science (MSc) in Development Finance from the University of Reading in the UK and a Bachelor’s Degree in Banking from Sudan University of Science and Technology.
