Tarmacking of Juba – Rumbek Highway Begins

Shandong Hi-Speed Company has started applying asphalt on the Juba – Rumbek Highway with a successful completion of the experimental pavement on Monday.

The 380 meters long section of the road was tarmacked to kick-start the asphalting phase of the construction.

The company says the completion of experimental work has boosted the morale among its employees and underpins the staff solidarity for the construction task of the strategic road project.


The construction of Juba – Rumbek Highway which started in 2018 is expected to be completed in 2023. If completed the road will be the country’s second Highway after Nimule – Juba Highway.
