Kiir Agrees to Revoke 32 States


President Salva Kiir has this morning agreed to revoke the 32 states after a meeting with various government stakeholders.

In a meeting at J1 State House in Juba, the president announced in a televised statement that the country will return to the former 10 states. This according to the president was necessary for the peace to prevail in the country.

Opposition leader Riek Machar had demanded the return to 10 states before he could participate in the upcoming unity government slated to be announced on 22nd February.


Riek is yet to react to Kiir’s decision.
