Dancehall singer Mabor Abud Mathiang popularly known as Emma 47 is killed this morning along Juba-Nimule road according to his label-mate John Frog.
Emma 47 was travelling from Juba to Nimule with others when they fell in an ambush on the now notorious Juba – Nimule highway laid by suspected rebels affiliated to Riek Machar’s SPLA-IO.
John Frog confirmed to Talk of Juba that the singer died when their car was hit by an RPG rocket fired by suspected rebels. It’s not clear who were the other occupants of the ill-fated car.
Emma 47 was the founder Zol Batal Entertainment, a Juba-based record label. He was only in his 20s. He leaves behind an infant daughter who is less than one year old.
