The United States has condemned the recent calls by former first vice President Riek Machar for his forces and allies to reorganise for a war against President Kiir’s government.
The US state department called it “inexcusable” and a lack of will for the well-being of the South Sudanese People.
“We find it inexcusable that Machar would continue to promote armed resistance. It indicates a lack of concern for the well-being of the South Sudanese people, many of whom continue to struggle just to survive and just as much want to see peace.” Kirby told reporters.
Washington also added that the past few years have proved that fighting can not resolve the countries problems.
US happens to be the first foreign power to respond to Machar’s decision to resume war after meeting his allies in Khartoum last weekend.
